Role Overview:

The Senior Scrum Master is a seasoned Agile practitioner with extensive experience in leading Agile teams and driving organizational Agile transformations. They play a key role in mentoring and coaching less experienced Scrum Masters, while also providing strategic guidance to the organization on Agile best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the organization on Agile principles, practices, and methodologies. Collaborate with senior management to drive Agile transformation initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.2. Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach less experienced Scrum Masters, helping them develop their skills and expertise in Agile delivery. Provide guidance on handling complex situations, facilitating difficult conversations, and driving continuous improvement.3. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior executives, product owners, and external partners. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.4. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to continuously improve Agile processes and practices within the organization. Identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and standardization to enhance productivity and delivery quality.5. Agile Governance: Establish and maintain Agile governance frameworks, including standards, policies, and metrics for measuring Agile performance. Ensure compliance with Agile principles and practices across the organization.6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies that may impact Agile delivery. Proactively address issues and impediments to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.7. Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among Agile teams and stakeholders. Facilitate communities of practice, workshops, and training sessions to disseminate Agile knowledge and best practices.8. Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and Agile frameworks. Share insights and thought leadership within the organization and contribute to the broader Agile community through speaking engagements, publications, and participation in conferences.

Qualifications and Skills:

- 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in software development or IT projects.- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.- Proven track record of successfully leading Agile transformations and driving organizational change.- Strong leadership, mentorship, and coaching skills.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.- Deep understanding of Agile principles, frameworks, and scaling methodologies (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizational structures.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
