About the team

Seeking experienced Automotive Firmware Engineer (AUTOSAR) to contribute to the full software development life cycle (SDLC) of next-generation automotive sensing platforms. This role will leverage prior engineering expertise to develop a broad range of AUTOSAR-platform based functionality with a focus on OEM/ end-customer and Lidar platform-specific diagnostic development. Role activities include supporting development and bring-up of enhanced hardware platforms, adding and integrating features to existing platforms, prototyping research concepts and debugging existing platforms. Responsibilities can range from individual contributor to group and functional leadership depending on individual candidate's experience and career interests.

We have just launched recently the Luminar India product development center. This is a first set of lead hires for this function, as we look to augment this function at Luminar, India. You will be part of a high cross-functional team and responsible for rapid prototyping and product development at Luminar.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test AUTOSAR-based embedded software components (SWCs) and complex device drivers (CDDs) for use in next-generation automotive lidar projects
  • Integrate lidar platform software for use in next-generation automotive lidar projects
  • Configure and integrate the basic software (BSW) stack on an AUTOSAR-based ECU for use in next-generation lidar projects
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) of next-generation automotive lidar projects including reaching full requirements traceability, work products, and process compliance
  • Mentor other embedded software engineers on automotive topics such as AUTOSAR

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience constructing C or C++ embedded software with projects demonstrating proficiency in coding, verification, unit testing, integration testing, and debugging
  • Hands-on experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN/CAN-FD/Ethernet and inter-system communication protocols such as I2C, UART, and SPI
  • Deep technical knowledge on the inner workings of the AUTOSAR Classic Platform including the usage of associated AUTOSAR tool chains
  • Familiarity with automotive flash bootloader concepts and integration
  • Extensive development experience working on all layers of the AUTOSAR Classic Platform (e.g. BSW configuration, MCAL integration, and SWC/CDD development)
  • Project experience working on an embedded software product that required at least ASPICE Level 2 compliance
  • Project experience working on a safety critical embedded software product that required functional safety certification
  • Ability to understand hardware schematics and data sheets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Vector Tools such as CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe, DaVinci Configuration, Davinci Developer, and vFlash
  • Familiarity with Ethernet-based automotive protocols (e.g. DoIP, SOME/IP, DDS, XCP, gPTP)
  • Extensive development experience working on automotive flash bootloaders
  • Knowledge of cyber security concepts with respect to Automotive industry
