About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with 3–5 years of experience in backend or full-stack development using Python and Django. This role sits between our Software Developers and the Team Lead, acting as both a senior technical contributor and a mentor.

You'll play a vital part in leading development of key features, guiding junior team members, and ensuring high code quality and project efficiency. This is a hands-on coding role with growing leadership responsibilities.

Team Structure:

You will work in a collaborative team that includes:

• Software Developers & Junior Developers (1–3 years experience)
• Python Developers
• Testers (Manual + Automation)
• Reporting to the Team Lead Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain high-quality backend code using Python and Django
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend logic for web/mobile applications
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and enforce clean architecture and best practices
• Own the development of critical modules and ensure timely delivery
• Collaborate with the frontend, QA, and DevOps teams for smooth integration and release cycles
• Identify and troubleshoot complex bugs and performance issues
• Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and technical discussions with the Team Lead
• Support and guide Software Developers in day-to-day problem-solving and feature implementation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of professional experience in backend or full stack development
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Python and the Django framework (Django REST Framework experience is a plus)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular is a bonus)
• Proficient with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), or CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Nice to Have:

• Experience mentoring or onboarding junior developers
• Knowledge of automated testing tools (Pytest, Selenium)
• Exposure to microservices, WebSockets, or GraphQL
• Familiarity with software deployment, DevOps practices
