Roles and Responsibilities
- Liaising closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item suits the customer, market and price points.
- Checking a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and mass production.
- Establishing best in class design and merchandising process across denim product category
- Assist for selection of fabric, trims, styles and other accessories including packaging for development sample
- Understanding the technical guidelines form various departments while selecting the style, fabric and other trims for the better feasibility of product in bulk production
- To create/visualize an idea and producing a design by hand sketch or using computer-based software.
- Working with others in the design team, product development and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief.
- To keep up to date with emerging and upcoming fashion trends, competition as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors etc.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience of 3-4 years in design of menswear (denim category)
- A fashion graduate/postgraduate from NIFT.
