JR56156 Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities and Tasks

Installation and configuration of HPC Linux servers Daily monitoring and sanity checking of engineering Linux servers Troubleshoot and Finetune performance issues and ensure high availability of the production servers Respond to performance issues identified by alerting and other reporting incidents Automate operational activities and tasks with the help of scripting Drive innovation and automation of computer solutions both internally and for our customers Use scripting languages and tools to automate tasks, system builds, and change management (Ansible, puppet, shell, Python, Perl, etc.) Monitor overall health of the Unix/Linux environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues Develop kickstarts for deployment into production environment Continually work to improve Linux compute environment. Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of system Installation, maintenance and administration of Micron engineering HPC compute clusters Customize and finetune LSF clusters as per the engineering requirements Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and identify LSF job failures Analyze, understand, and support electronic design environments across multiple geographies. Collaborate with CAD and design teams in multiple geographic locations to understand their workload and flow.  Support day-to-day operations and provide customer support.  Ensure security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability of Micron’s product design and engineering computing resources  Continually work to improve operations  Evolve the computing environment to meet future demands  Work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. Upkeep service efficiency and end-user satisfaction levels through service SLA Maintain systems and update operational documentation to ensure that they are current.

Qualifications and Experience: 

Experience managing Linux environment running Red Hat Linux. Strong Linux administration skills.  Experience managing ETX (Exceed Turbo X) environment LSF cluster installation, administration and management Experience with LSF RTM configuration and analysis Experience in EDA tools & FlexLM license management is a plus Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues that relate to design software tools and how they interact with computing infrastructure. Minimum o5 years of experience supporting Electronic Design Automation environments. 

Education:

or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines or equivalent work experience.
