Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Research Nurses to join the Vascular Surgery Unit and Department of Surgery.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role: The Northern Health Vascular Surgery Unit and Department of Surgery welcomes applications for a part-time (4 days a week) Vascular Research Coordinator.  The position will initially be for a 12-month fixed term.  The main role will be to work with the Principal and Sub-investigators (inc Vascular Surgeons and Registrars) to facilitate all administrative and governance aspects for vascular clinical device trials (Inc. Early phase and first in human).  This includes communicating with patients in all stages of recruitment, enrolment, trial procedure and follow up.  Understanding of clinical trial processes and precise and timely documentation are key attributes required of the role.  We welcome enthusiastic and experienced study coordinators with a drive for excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously to achieve the required tasks - investigators will be mostly offsite between enrolments and procedures.  Liaising with sponsors and CRO staff is part of the role, as well as within multiple departments within NH (pathology, operating theatre, engineering, radiation physics, vascular imaging etc) and outside (HREC, vascular ultrasound imaging, site monitors etc).  Other vascular unit research activities and administration will also form part of the role.  This will include assisting the vascular surgeons and registrars with their research projects, and also providing guidance and enabling statistical analysis and other research methods as needed.  While the role is primarily to support vascular research, critical to the role will be collaboration with other research coordinators within the department of surgery, including cross collaboration on studies and research activities, as well as covering leave and other aspects of the study coordinator roles within the Department of Surgery.   This role is responsible for facilitating all administrative and governance aspects for vascular clinical device trials, inclusive of liaising with patients through all stages of the recruitment / enrolment process To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge of conducting and managing research projects Proven ability to prioritise  Well-developed understanding of clinical processes Well-developed attention to detail Next Steps . . .
