Packaging Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Designing and developing primary packaging solutions that meet product and market requirements.
Coordinating with graphic designers to create and approve packaging artwork.
Ensuring all packaging designs comply with industry regulations and standards.
Manage the packaging development process, including prototyping, testing, and production trials.
Source packaging materials and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at the best possible price.
Research and identify new packaging materials, technologies, and suppliers to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of the company's packaging solutions.
Conducting paper GSM (grams per square meter) testing and other material evaluations
Implementing rigorous QC processes to maintain high packaging standards.
Develop packaging specifications and requirements, including design, materials, and testing procedures.
Work with quality assurance teams to ensure that packaging meets all relevant regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to ensure packaging aligns with brand guidelines and product positioning.
Maintain a database of packaging specifications, suppliers, and costs.
Manage packaging inventory levels and track packaging usage to ensure adequate supply levels.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in packaging development and sourcing, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to packaging, such as FDA regulations and sustainability standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustartor, Corel draw, cad softwares or related editing softwares.
Experience with QC processes and paper GSM testings.
