About the roleAs a Principal Software Engineer, you will focus on developing, enhancing and supporting a mission critical back-end application, while working with a broad range of application development, server maintenance, Devops and cloud-based computing. You will contribute to the development and operations of a critical application gateway on the cloud technologies.

What you’ll doDevelop a strong understanding of the product code base to become more efficient and effective.Evaluate and improve the design, performance, stability, and security of critical application componentsPerform design and code review for all application componentsDevelop architectural designs for upgrading and refactoring the applicationPerform application software upgrade of the python microservices in an incremental fashionPartner with security teams to continually review and remediate security vulnerabilities and threatsComplete all assigned tasks including new development, enhancements, and maintenance requests.Manage the communication and escalation of major issuesProvide and implement expert technical recommendations for resilience and reliabilityTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operationsConsistently write unit and integration tests around code and maintain the test suite.

What you’ll bring8+ years of professional experience in backend application stack and strong proficiency in building Python webservicesStrong experience with AWS and cloud computing (architecture, deployments, and services)Experience in AWS technologies such as EC2, RDS, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana)Experience in Jenkins orchestrated CI/CD pipelines, Ansible and Docker containersAbility to work both independently and collaboratively with other software engineers on cross-team projectsExperience working in Ruby on Rails.Experience in remediating security vulnerabilities and applying patches in AWSProficiency in new GNU / Linux operating systemStrong problem solving and prioritization skillsExperience working in an agile environmentAble to work flexible hours as required by business prioritiesAbility to deliver software that meets consistent standards of quality, security and operability
