Job Responsibilities:

Preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in line with the hostel's menu and recipesFollow established cooking methods, portion sizes, and quality standards to deliver consistent and flavorful dishesPrepare ingredients, including chopping, cutting, and marinating, to ensure timely execution during service hoursMonitor food stock levels and assist in the ordering and receiving of ingredients to maintain an efficient workflowMaintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety guidelines and sanitation regulationsCollaborate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of meal serviceContribute creative ideas for menu enhancements and presentation improvements.Assist in the training of new kitchen staffParticipate in daily and weekly cleaning tasks to uphold kitchen hygiene standardsAdhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment, utensils, and ingredientsStay updated on industry trends and new culinary techniques to continually improve skills and knowledge

Qualifications and Skills:

Culinary diploma or relevant culinary education is preferredPrior experience as a Commi 2 or CDP or Sous Chef or equivalent role is advantageous.MulticuisineStrong understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentationBasic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practicesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during peak hoursAttention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishesEffective communication skills and the ability to work well within a teamFlexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots or ingredients
