Dependingon the specific role as an SAP developer engineer this is what youll typically do to support SAP S/4 Hanaupgrades:
Develop and Customize SAP Solutions: Work on the development andcustomization of SAP modules to meet the specific needs of thebusiness. This involves coding in ABAP or other relevant SAPprogramming languages creating custom reports interfacesenhancements andforms.
Assess and Plan for S/4HANA Upgrades: Conduct thorough assessmentsof existing SAP systems to identify areas that require upgrades ormodifications for S/4HANA compatibility. Develop detailed plans androadmaps for the upgradeprocess.
Customize and Optimize for S/4HANA: Work on customizing andoptimizing SAP modules for S/4HANA ensuring that allfunctionalities are seamlessly transitioned to the new platform.This involves updating existing ABAP code and leveraging newcapabilities offered byS/4HANA.
Data Migration and Integration: Manage the migration of data fromlegacy systems to the S/4HANA platform. Ensure data integrity andconsistency during the migration process. Integrate S/4HANA withother enterprise systems and thirdpartyapplications.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct extensive testing of theupgraded systems including unit testing integration testing andperformance testing. Ensure that the upgrade meets all functionalrequirements and performancestandards
Troubleshoot and Resolve Upgrade Issues: Identify and troubleshootany issues arising from the upgrade process. Provide solutions tocomplex technical problems and ensure minimal disruption tobusinessoperations.
Documentation and Reporting: Document the upgrade process changesmade and new functionalities implemented. Create comprehensivereports that detail the outcomes of the upgrade and anyrecommendations for furtherenhancements.
Provide Training and Support: Train endusers and IT staff on thenew features and functionalities of S/4HANA. Offer ongoing supportto ensure smooth operation and quick resolution of any postupgradeissues.
Collaborate with CrossFunctional Teams: Work closely withfunctional consultants project managers and other IT professionalsto ensure a holistic approach to the S/4HANA upgrade. Ensure thattechnical solutions align with business strategies andobjectives.
Monitor Performance PostUpgrade: Continuously monitor theperformance of the S/4HANA system postupgrade. Implementadjustments and optimizations as necessary to maintain systemefficiency andreliability.
Stay Informed on SAP Innovations: Keep uptodate with the latestdevelopments in SAP technologies particularly those related toS/4HANA. Use this knowledge to continually improve systemperformance andfunctionality.
Jobrequirements Solid software developmentfundamentals excellent problemsolving skills. Proven track record of successfulimplementation upgrade or maintenance of SAP systems especially inan S/4HANA environment. Strong proficiencyin ABAP programming including reports interfaces enhancements andforms Experience with SAP integrationsincluding IDOCs BAPIs RFCs and Web ServicesFamiliarity with SAP Fiori UI5 and other SAP frontendtechnologies Understanding of databasemanagement systems and SQL Knowledge of SAPHANA SAP NetWeaver and related technologiesGood understanding of SAP functional modules and businessprocesses Ability to translate businessrequirements into technical solutions Stronganalytical and problemsolving abilitiesCapacity to troubleshoot and resolve complex technicalissues Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills Ability to workeffectively in a team environment and collaborate withcrossfunctional teams Ability to managemultiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic workenvironment Willingness to keep uptodatewith the latest SAP developments andtechnologies Ability to quickly adapt to newtools and technologies Proficiency inEnglish both written and spoken Goodcommunication skills (written and verbal) proven team playerrolling up the sleeves and getting involved in the nittygritty. Bachelor s or Master s degree inComputer Science or related field from a topuniversity. Able to work within the GMT8timezone
