Junior Statistician[AI/ML]

Digantara is developing the world's first maps for space, known as the Space-Mission Assurance Platform™ (Space-MAP™). Space-MAP™ is an innovative end-to-end infrastructure for sustainable space operations, providing a comprehensive space situational awareness solution that simplifies and strengthens satellite operations in response to the rapidly growing commercialization of space.
We are seeking a Junior Statistician with a strong background in statistics and working knowledge of AI/ML to build powerful AI-based models that can replace traditional algorithms.
Ideal candidate
Ideally, we are looking for a competent statistician who has developed an AI model to take the place of a physics-based algorithm, resulting in order of magnitude improvement in computational efficiency and achieving equivalent accuracy.

Responsibilities
- Build and deploy machine learning models to replace traditional algorithms while achieving massive performance improvement and retaining accuracy.
- Create regression models to predict the trajectories and behaviours of space objects, considering various dynamic factors.
- Develop and implement statistics-based algorithms to enhance the accuracy and quality of existing algorithms.
- Develop robust evaluation frameworks to assess the performance of classification and regression models, continuously iterating on algorithms for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate machine learning solutions into our Space-MAP™ platform, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing systems.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, feature transformation, dimensionality reduction, supervised or unsupervised learning, model tuning, and validation.
- Knowledge of data structures and various machine learning techniques. Familiarity with deep learning networks and other numerical algorithms.
Preferred Qualities
- Proven experience in developing machine learning models for classification and regression in a professional setting.
- Hands-on experience with Python packages for AI/ML.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in relevant libraries and frameworks.
- Experience with parallel programming and version control.
