Position Overview:
The Finite Element Analysis Engineer is responsible for performing Finite Element Analysis on new and existing designs. Responsibilities will encompass developing load and acceleration profiles for durability life simulation together with testing parameters and techniques, and providing durability life expectation reports to meet product development objectives and customer application profiles.
Responsibilities:
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using software to analyze design failure and optimize mechanical components and systems. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate stress, shear, bending, torsional forces, moments, deflection, buckling, creep, and fatigue for assessment of the structural behavior of part and assembly. Lead the DFMEA to identify potential failure modes, their causes, and effects on the design. Work closely with the design team to implement risk mitigation strategies based on DFMEA findings. Create Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) to validate design specifications. Produce and present detailed FEA reports, effectively communicating findings to Management and Design Engineers. Analyze test data to determine loading limits aligned with customer expectations and OEM guidelines. Coordinate and guide external contractors for track testing to validate product durability. Collaborate with other departments to assess, identify, and resolve design issues. Evaluate models for integration into vocational vehicles, ensuring alignment with customer, technical, and regulatory specifications. Support lean manufacturing initiatives to deliver products that meet or exceed customer requirements while enhancing internal metrics. Assist Design Engineers, Designers, and Drafters by contributing necessary engineering expertise for successful design completion. Facilitate the professional development guidance to Design Engineers. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but bachelor's degree is also acceptable. Minimum of 5 years of experience (with M-Tech) or 7+ years of experience (with B-Tech) utilizing Finite Element Analysis software. ANSYS software experience preferred, other FEA software experience is acceptable. Sound knowledge of SolidWorks and PDM is desired. Hands-on project experience of DFMEA and DVP&R processes. Project Management skills with experience in managing engineering projects desired. Proficient in sheet metal fabrication processes, and sound knowledge of assembly and welding procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information across all organizational levels. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and manage multiple deadlines. Ability to solve FEA problems and develop solutions without any supervision. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.Code of Ethics:
