Crewing Manager, Seafarer Recruitment

Job AccountabilitiesEnsure the seafarer’s planning and procedures are in compliance with vessel related statutory, company and client’s requirementsSupport the General Manager in preparation of vessel’s budgets by analyzing crewing budget and expenditure reportsMaintain accurate information in Crewing software, ensure the skill alignment of seafarers as per vessel’s needsManage crewing operation within approved budget, monitor the retention and effective rotation of seafarersReview wage scales, monthly budget compliance and document rationale for deviations from annual budget estimatesProvide periodical performance feedback, set clear expectations and review performance of the teamDeal with underperformance effectively while planning promotions and beneficial attrition to improve team performanceBrief seafarers on vessel specific and policy matters prior joining the vesselOversee the handling of grievance investigations and disciplinary matters to ensure alignment and organizational guidelinesManage Crewing issues arising from clients and seafarers, ensure the issues are resolved timely while providing support during crisis management on vesselsCommunicate with both internal and external parties to deliver business resultsCommunicate internally to forecast crew recruitment needs based on requirementsAct as the focal point with seafarers and their families to provide extended support in seafarers’ wellness and engagement initiativesTimely reporting to occupational accidents, injuries and illness to P&I cell and Regulatory bodiesContribute as a high-performing team member and deliver performance aligned with the company’s business strategy and values
RequirementsDegree in Maritime Management or equivalentSeafaring experience as Deck officer/Engineer officer onboard Bulk carriers/Container ships/Car Carriers/TankersAt least 2 years’ experience in Crewing of Dry vessel fleets or TankersGood command of written and spoken EnglishStrong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally and courteously at all levels with various stakeholders and ship staffOpen minded and flexible in prioritization of tasks and willing to learn new tasks
