Make an impact on our business by leveraging your skills as a Director of Software Engineering in building a team of technologists who will deliver Chase's next generation Connected Banking platform.As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking’s Connected Banking Product, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.Job responsibilitiesManage agile software delivery teams and partnering with the Product partners to drive technology delivery.Deliver solutions leveraging modern technologies including cloud backed APIs and microservices utilizing distributed database technologies.Assess and manage a strong pool of talent in order to build a diverse and inclusive team and culture within the organizationManage all aspects of technology delivery.Provide leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple areasAct as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectivesManage multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborationsInfluence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampion the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExperience in developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologistsAbility to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.Experience with developing and managing large scale platforms with strong understanding of complex distributed systems running on hybrid infrastructure (on premises, private and private cloud environments)Deep expertise building and operating large scale high performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure,Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technology (., Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (., microservices, APIs).Experience with building, leading and mentoring technology teams and next level leaders within the organization.Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment leading/working with geographically distributed teams.Experience with implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls.Excellent communication skills and ability to present to and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across product, technology, data and design.Strong organizational and management skills.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with Personal Financial Management, and deriving customer insights from banking dataExperience building large scale public cloud systems
