Main Purpose:


You will be helping to deliver state-of-the-art smart antenna design, standard & custom antenna integration and design projects as well as help with R&D functions within the group. Also you will be responsible for design and test of RF circuitry for radio products, active antennas and antenna systems. You will also lead a small team of engineers.


Reporting to: VP of Engineering


Responsibilities:


  • To design and develop antennas mainly from (but not limited to) 100MHz to 6GHz. Ability to design and develop antennas for mmWave application would be a plus and desirable
  • Knowledge in communication standards such as CDMA, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, EDVO, WIFI, GPS, EDGE, 5G, UWB, GNSS and others.
  • To create and/or approve antenna specifications.
  • Work with VNA’s, Far Field anechoic chamber, spectrum analyzer and other RF equipment.
  • Work with Sales, R&D, Management, Production, Mechanical, Noise Control departments.
  • To solve and support certification issues on wireless devices with customers.
  • To suggest improved PCB layouts to help customers improve RF performance.
  • Ability to coordinate projects from initial customer meetings all the way to pilot production runs, including assisting in QC documentation, test standards, etc.
  • Knowledge of design of RF subsystems, such as LNAs, filters, diplexers, power amplifiers etc is a desirable.
  • As a senior engineer you will be responsible to Look after the engineering team and test facilities and provide updates to your manager.


Qualifications/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Masters or PhD degree in Electrical
  • Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • 7 - 10 years of Antenna/RF design
  • Electromagnetic simulation experience such as CST, HFSS and ADS.
  • Ability to use RF test equipment and perform passive and active tests.
  • Ability to consider all possible variables and challenges at the beginning of a custom antenna design for any wireless device.
  • Fully understand different antenna technologies such as Dipoles, Monopoles, Helical, Loop, Yagi, PIFA, etc. Including features, restrictions, integration considerations, advantages, disadvantages, etc
  • Design of matching circuit or filters with CAD and in Lab.
  • Hands on experience with spectrum analysers, network analysers, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Knowledge with AutoCAD, MATLab, CAM350, Altium, Solidworks is a plus.
  • Exposure to Design for manufacture and design for Assembly.
  • Able to link the antenna performance to system level performance and understand how to optimize the system performance.
