Role Title: Software Engineering Advisor
Position Summary:
The Software Engineering Advisor will be an integral part of a talented technology team responsible for the design, build, test and deliver services and bigdata applications. The ideal candidate should be a well-rounded, self-starter, hands-on software engineer that works best in a collaborative, dynamic, agile environment and have a passion for solving complex problems. Play a technical role in an area responsible for building and providing direction for enterprise services, and contribute to a technical infrastructure that leverages Cignas Cloud, API and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA)strategy and Data Integration capabilities.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, construction, testing and implementation of distributed applications and microservices.
- Provide support for defect resolution and triage
- Participate in proof of concepts for software tools/technologies related to application or process development.
- Provide support on CI/CD pipelines and automation where necessary
- Ultimately responsible for building and maintaining solutions conformant to enterprise standards, architecture and technologies.
Experience Required:
- Overall 8 9 years post education experience
- Minimum of 6+ years of solid hands-on experience building and delivering secure RESTful APIs or SOAP services using Java
- Experience working with RDBMS / SQL
Required Skills:
- RESTful APIs using Springboot and Java
- Knowledge about types of data structures in java and when to use them (arrays, lists, hashmap, set)
- Memory management and garbage collection concepts
- Concept of multi-threading / parallel execution and appropriate use cases
- Testing and quality of code Different types of testing to ensure application quality.
- Consuming other RESTful APIs
- Experience with SQL
- Knowledge of CI/CD process
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies at a rapid pace
Preferred Skills
- Docker / Kubernetes
- RESTful API security
- Detailed knowledge of CI/CD process and stages
- SOAP/XML and WebServices
- Apache Camel and Enterprise Integration Patterns
- Design patterns
- Performance Engineering
- Observability and troubleshooting skills
Education and Training Required:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
