Qualifications:- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.- 15+ years of experience in software development with at least 8 years in Ruby on Rails development.- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software development projects.- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure management.

Skills:- Expertise in Ruby on Rails, including experience with building RESTful APIs, microservices, and full-stack development.- Strong understanding of modern web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, etc.), Stimulus and Tailwind.- Knowledge of database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and ORM tools (ActiveRecord).- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git).- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Job Summary:We are seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead and oversee the Ruby on Rails team in Bangalore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing product development, providing technical guidance, and ensuring high-quality code delivery. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive development timelines, and ensure alignment with business objectives while promoting best practices in Ruby on Rails development. The candidate should be well-versed in Product Engineering practices like BDD and TDD.

Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Development:- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Ruby on Rails developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.- Conduct performance reviews, provide career development guidance, and promote skill growth within the team.

Project Management:- Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality Ruby on Rails products, ensuring projects meet technical and business requirements.- Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to align development efforts with business goals.- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.- Manage and prioritize development backlogs and timelines using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

Technical Leadership:- Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications using the latest Ruby on Rails, PostgresSQL and related technologies- Provide technical direction and expertise in Ruby on Rails, including architectural decisions, best practices, and development standards.- Ensure the team follows clean code practices, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).- Stay updated with the latest Ruby on Rails advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into the development process.

- Collaboration & Communication:- Act as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency, clear communication, and the effective translation of business needs into technical requirements.- Coordinate with DevOps, QA, and other departments to optimize application performance, security, and scalability.

Quality Assurance:- Ensure the delivery of high-quality code by implementing code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration pipelines.- Proactively identify technical debt and lead initiatives to address it.
