Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 4 years

of hands-on experience in managing and optimizing databases. The ideal candidate

must have expertise in MongoDB and Cassandra and should be proficient in

various other databases such as MySQL , ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, Aerospike,

Couchbase, and AWS RDS. A solid background in Linux administration, OS

upgrades, and experience in performance and cost optimization is crucial.


Key Responsibilities :

● Database Administration: Manage and administer MongoDB and

Cassandra clusters, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability.

● Data Management: Implement database best practices, monitoring, and

regular audits to secure data and optimize database architecture.

● Migration of databases or workloads from one cloud region to another

region.

● Database Operations: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain databases such as MySQL,

ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, Aerospike, AWS RDS and Couchbase.

● Performance Optimization: Analyze and fine-tune database performance by

optimizing queries, indexing, and caching. Ensure efficient storage and retrieval strategies.

● Cost Management: Develop and maintain cost-effective solutions and

processes, minimizing cloud infrastructure costs and optimizing resource usage.

● Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute database backup and recovery

plans to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime.

● Security Management: Implement and enforce security measures to protect

sensitive data, including access control and data encryption.

● Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Regularly monitor databases, identify

bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues to improve efficiency and performance.

● Linux Administration: Perform Linux OS upgrades, patches, and system

maintenance, ensuring optimal server performance and stability.

● Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database

configurations, procedures, and guidelines.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

● Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in Database Administration with

a focus on MongoDB OR MYsql OR Cassandra.

● Proficiency in MySQL , ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, Aerospike,

Couchbase, and AWS RDS.

● Linux Administration experience, including handling OS upgrades and

managing system configurations.

● Expertise in database performance tuning, cost optimization, and

high-availability architecture.

● Strong Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery

strategies.

● Experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl for

automation and database maintenance tasks.

● Analytical skills to identify and solve database issues, optimize

performance, and minimize costs.

● Excellent Communication Skills to collaborate with development,

engineering, and infrastructure teams effectively.


Preferred Skills:

● Experience with cloud-based database solutions and services, particularly in

AWS.

● Knowledge of automation tools and infrastructure management.

● Familiarity with monitoring and alerting solutions for databases and systems.
