Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Performance Testing Engineer to own and drive the

performance testing and engineering process for our SaaS-based platform. The ideal candidate will

have strong expertise in performance testing, engineering strategies, and DevPerfOps practices to

ensure the highest standards of application reliability, scalability, and user experience.

A) Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Testing & Strategy

- Develop and execute performance testing strategies and plans across all layers of the application stack, aligned with non-functional requirements and business goals.- Design realistic performance test scenarios, encompassing load, stress, capacity, and scalability testing techniques.- Create and automate modular performance test scripts for web and mobile applications using tools like JMeter and/or K6- Develop test cases based on user stories, performance requirements, and system SLAs.- Execute tests across pre-production and production environments to ensure systems meet defined SLAs under various conditions.

2. Performance Engineering

- Collaborate with Dev leads and developers to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in application design and infrastructure.- Apply performance engineering principles to optimize application architecture, database queries, and system configurations.- Perform deep-dive analysis into system behavior (e.g., resource usage, throughput, latency) to recommend improvements.- Proactively monitor production environments and implement feedback loops to continuously improve performance metrics.

3. DevPerfOps & Continuous Improvement

- Embed performance testing within DevPerfOps pipelines, ensuring performance validation at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).- Automate performance testing processes and integrate with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure Pipelines.- Collaborate with operational support teams to ensure monitoring and diagnostics tools like AppInsights, Grafana, and Prometheus are effectively utilized for real-time performance insights.- Stay updated on emerging DevPerfOps tools, cloud technologies, and testing methodologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

4. Analysis, Reporting, and Mentorship

- Analyze performance test results and provide actionable insights, bottleneck remediation plans, and optimization strategies.- Prepare detailed performance reports with clear metrics, trends, and improvement suggestions for stakeholders.- Mentor QA engineers and development teams on performance engineering best practices and performance-first principles.

B) Requirements

1. Education and Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- 5-7 years of experience in performance testing and engineering with tools like JMeter/K6- Demonstrated expertise in performance monitoring and analysis using tools like AppInsights, Grafana, or similar.

2. Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, including load generation, stress testing, and performance profiling.- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for scripting and test automation.- Solid understanding of application architecture (web protocols, databases) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.- Experience with troubleshooting distributed systems and addressing scalability challenges.

3. Desirable Skills

- Certifications in performance testing, DevOps, or related fields (e.g., ISTQB, HP LoadRunner).- Knowledge of JVM tuning, database optimization (e.g., Oracle, SQL), and mobile app performance testing.- Familiarity with Agile and Six Sigma methodologies
