Job Description : Cost Accountant – Textile Industry


Position: Cost Accountant

Experience: 3-5 Years (Preference for candidates with prior experience in the textile industry)

Location: Mumbai

Employment Type: Full-Time



Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in the textile industry. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis, with a demonstrated ability to optimize cost structures and support organizational growth.



Key Responsibilities:


1. Cost Analysis & Budgeting:


Prepare and analyze cost reports to determine the cost of production and operations.


Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency.



2. Inventory Management:


Maintain accurate inventory records and evaluate inventory costing methods.


Perform regular variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.



3. Product Costing & Pricing:


Analyze costs for new products, product lines, and existing products.


Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure accurate pricing models.



4. Reporting & Compliance:


Generate regular financial reports related to cost efficiency and profitability.


Ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.



5. Industry-Specific Insights:


Evaluate and manage costs unique to the textile industry, such as raw material sourcing, weaving, dyeing, and finishing processes.


Provide actionable insights to optimize production costs and reduce wastage.



6. Stakeholder Coordination:


Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and finance, to align cost objectives.


Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations to improve cost performance.




Required Skills & Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA/ICWA preferred).


Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cost Accountant (experience in the textile industry is highly preferred).


Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Proficiency in cost accounting software and ERP systems.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with multiple teams.



Note: Extra preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the textile industry.
