Brief Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer with experience in Integrated Management Systems as well to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience in managing health, safety, and environmental programs within a corporate or industrial setting. As a QHSE Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, protecting the environment, and promoting compliance with regulatory standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards, environmental impacts, and areas for improvement.
Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to develop and implement effective risk control measures and emergency response plans.
Provide guidance and training to employees on health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and practices.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to health, safety, and environmental performance, and prepare reports for management review.
Stay updated on changes to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, and communicate relevant information to stakeholders.
Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments, and assist with the resolution of findings and corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sustainable practices and initiatives to minimise environmental impact and promote resource conservation.
Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
Certified Health, Safety & Environment Officer (CHSEO) or equivalent certification preferred.
4-6 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in (insert industry).
Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 9001/ OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in GSuite and other relevant software applications.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including occasional travel and off-hours support.
