About the role :

The Data team is looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to help use state-of-the-art algorithms to analyze our data and uncover patterns otherwise undiscoverable. These will include but are not limited to using unsupervised learning techniques to uncover underlying patterns in customer repayments behavior, building classification models to define intervention strategies building recommender systems to optimize ROI of interventions. This is a unique opportunity to get access to a large mane of data and build tools that will have a direct impact on people's lives.

What you will be expected to do :

1) Build production level machine learning models using the latest open-source technologies.

2) Develop scalable tools and services for handling machine learning workflows. Research and design appropriate machine learning and deep learning algorithms and tools.

3) Identify opportunities to use available sources of data to solve business problems. Gain in-depth knowledge about our data to find the most relevant input for new models.

You might be a strong candidate if you :

1) Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar quantitative field. Master's degree or PhD preferred.

2) 3 years of relevant professional experience with at least two years hands-on experience building machine learning models. Experience building financial models preferred.

3) Ability to transform a business problem statement into a machine learning problem and solve them with the most relevant machine learning techniques.

4) Ability to write high quality code optimized to process and transform huge volume of data.

5) Intermediate level of proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc. (AWS preferred)

6) Proficiency in Python, SQL, and in machine learning frameworks and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.).Other coding languages (Scala, etc.). will be considered.

7) Good understanding of statistics preferred: you have a good knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and you know how and why they work.

8) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.

9) Ability to learn quickly, initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.

10) Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

11) Some experience managing projects and/or a team preferred, and eager to guide others.
