Job Description

As an Associate – NBS (Nature Based Solutions) with a special focus to AFOLU sector you are responsible for preparing the initial assessment of carbon project, followed by doing emission reduction estimation and develop the project design document as per the applicable carbon methodology. You will be part of the technical team within FCF India to develop and certify the carbon project under different carbon standards like VERRA, Gold Standard, Fairtrade Climate Standard, Plan Vivo or any other relevant standards. Your focus will be on the documentation of carbon methodologies (Gold Standard, fairtrade Climate Standard, VERRA, Plan Vivo, others) knowledge into simple analysis and reporting for the specific projects. The position will be based in India with occassionally travel (30%) nationally and internationally.

The scope of this work is across South Asia, South East Asia, Africa and beyond, with focus on key regions that are strategic to FCF India work .


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Analysis of carbon emission reduction potential for multiple sectors like Agriculture/Forestry/Land Use/Energy Efficiency

·        Provide advisory and consulting support for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects

·        Support FCF India in assessing, screening and developing new project opportunities.

·        Conducting feasibility assessments for potential projects

·        Conduct field visit to assess the implementation plan of local partners/clients

·        Advise and develop knowledge base of agriculture, land use and forestry sector in line with carbon project development work

·        Closely work on project registration processes of PD writing, carbon estimations, undertaking secondary researches as and when required

·        Overseeing ongoing operational projects ensuring performance delivery and reporting.


We ask for:

·        An ambitious person with an analytical and entrepreneurial attitude having relevant experience in the nature-based solutions or forestry /agriculture sector.

·        A post-graduate with specialisation in environment/Forestry

·        1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in similar or equivalent position/s in a carbon market

·        Intrinsic motivation to work on climate and development themes.

·        Socially skilled and customer-oriented attitude

·        Strong communication skills especially in community project development and report writing.

·        Ability to operate independently and with a team of professionals.

 

 

You must have knowledge of:

·    Experience in forest inventory analysis or management; with experience in carbon project management; preparation of technical documents for carbon project development and monitoring.

·        Carbon certification experience under NBS sector is an advantage.

·        Experience of carbon credit issuance and monitoring framework is an advantage
