This role will be responsible to build and maintain highly scalable, available, and secure IT infrastructure on cloud and On-Premises. The Service Reliability Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to build and support various IT functions to ensure various business applications are managed and secured and also contribute as subject matter expertise for Banyan Cloud product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Passion for providing reliable services at scale in cloud environmentsDiagnose and help resolve highly technical customer related issues across manydifferent platforms.Perform incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identifyways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.Implement and improve monitoring and alerting.Build and maintain highly available systems.Reproduce customer cases for detailed troubleshooting, analysis and resolution.Identify and write technical articles or knowledge-base entries, support runbooks, andbest practice documentation.Mentor and train new team members to help with configuration and diagnosing issues.Contribute to code reviews, documentation and other team processes.Improve testing suites and better automate these tests so problems are surfaced faster.
Key Qualifications:2+ years in a UNIX-based large-scale web operations role.Experience with web-based Java/J2EE architectures and JVM configuration.Python experience, specifically for systems automation.Deeply familiar with AWS and other public cloud technologies equivalences (EB, EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation, etc…)Strong operational experience in Linux environment (OS, networking, process level).Proficient with bootstrap, provisioning, configuration and orchestrationExperience working in a collaborative, distributed team environment.Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Github,Bitbucket, or CircleCI, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, chef and AnsibleProven experience in trouble shooting, debugging, and performance measurementExperience with ensuring security and compliance of production systemsDeep knowledge of networking protocols and diagnostic tools.Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale UNIX environment.Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.Participate in a 24x7 rotation for second-tier escalations globally.
