Traffic Manager

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Traffic Manager to oversee and manage our daily transport operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of all freight movements, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role involves close coordination with vendors, strategic material planning, and robust report generation to drive continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Transport Operations Management: Lead and manage all day-to-day transport operations, which includes strategic planning of routes, scheduling of shipments, and real-time tracking of vehicles to ensure on-time delivery.
• Full Truckload (FTL) Management: Ensure the timely and efficient placement of FTL vehicles according to dispatch schedules and business requirements.
• Part Truckload (PTL) Coordination: Oversee all PTL material planning and dispatch. Coordinate effectively with various vendors for part load deliveries, ensuring optimal consolidation and cost-efficiency.
• Vendor Management: Source, onboard, and manage relationships with PTL vendors. Negotiate rates and terms to ensure compliance with company standards and service level agreements.
• Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time performance, vehicle utilization, and freight costs. Use data to identify trends, address issues, and improve overall transport efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (Insert Number) years in a traffic management or logistics role.
• Strong experience in FTL vehicle placement and PTL material planning.
• Demonstrated ability in vendor onboarding and relationship management.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to generate and interpret reports.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
