Solution Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Solution Architect with a strong IT focus to lead the design and implementation of information solutions for industrial automation projects. This role emphasizes expertise in DevOps practices, advanced scripting, containerization, and reporting, while requiring a foundational understanding of SCADA and OEE systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure and efficient information solutions across OT and IT layers.
• Lead technical development from design to deployment, ensuring performance, maintainability, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain automated pipelines using DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Azure DevOps).
• Write and maintain complex scripts (preferably in Python) for data processing, integration, and automation.
• Design and deploy dynamic dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or custom reporting tools.
• Collaborate with automation, IT, and business teams to translate industrial requirements into digital solutions.
• Integrate and contextualize data from SCADA systems, PLCs, historians, and databases.
• Guide implementation of OEE metrics and performance dashboards.
• Apply best practices for source control (Git/GitHub) and containerization (Docker) in project workflows.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and suggest improvements to existing architectures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in IT-centric roles within industrial automation or digital transformation projects.
• Proficiency in Python (preferred), with additional scripting languages like JavaScript or PowerShell being a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of data acquisition, data modeling, and industrial reporting.
• Basic familiarity with SCADA systems (Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC, etc.) and protocols (OPC UA, MQTT).
• Knowledge of OEE principles and experience integrating OEE data into dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with industrial databases (SQL Server, OSIsoft PI).
• Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in industrial IT environments.
• Understanding of container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.

Additional Job Description:

• Program hardware/software integration and systems diagnostics to support machine based control systems
• Collaborate with sales personnel, customers, service technicians and other departments to assist with developing engineering and functional system specifications
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive program documentation for diagnostics, information systems, data collection and communication with other peripheral equipment.
• Act as a liaison to production assembly, service, engineering personnel and system suppliers to furnish information and documentation about software controls; assist in the check-out and correction of control system software as needed.
