What we are looking for:

A Senior Software Engineer (SSE) in the SRE team will own multiple Product deployments and will support the implementation team to drive the client delivery. An SSE will mentor and guide a team of highly talented engineers.


The role purpose and scope:

  • Manage multiple Product deployments running in different client environments.
  • Automation of all installations, upgrades, configurations, and trouble shooting
  • Developing a monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, alerts, etc.
  • Work closely with Product engineering / Customer engagement teams to ensure that product implementations are stable. Participate in stakeholder management.
  • Drive ongoing improvements and efficiencies in technology and operational practices to make our distributed systems/products more reliable.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential risks.
  • Once risks are identified, analyse and evaluate potential impact and likelihood of occurrence.
  • Based on the risk assessment, implement various risk mitigation strategies to mitigate operational risks.
  • Once done, continuously monitor and review the effectiveness of their risk strategies.
  • Mentor and guide SRE engineers on best practices of support.
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.


Experience and skills:

  • Experience in Azure or AWS cloud.
  • Experience with distributed storage technologies and dynamic resource management frameworks like Kubernetes.
  • Proven work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role
  • Experience in automation with skills on
  • 5 - 8 years of coding experience in a programming language like Python.
  • terraform for provisioning and deployment in cloud.
  • DevOps tools like Jenkins/Ansible, CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven record of incident management, including debugging application, infra, database, network
  • Experience in monitoring and observability practices and tools like Grafana, etc.
  • Proven record of Reliability practices, including disaster recovery, monitoring
  • Experience in capacity planning, scalability, utilization and security of infrastructure, applications, networks, and database.


Bonus skills:

  • Exposure to large-scale systems and systems architecture,
  • Experience in maintaining product deployments or implementations (ex. SAP, Salesforce, fintech applications etc)
  • Knowledge of PKI, SMTP, Web servers – Nginx/Apache, Python web-frameworks
