Job for an Embedded Software Senior Engineer who is technically strong, and has hands-on experience in C/C++ Programming Language with Linux. Should have been involved in debugging or development of Linux kernel device drivers including at-least 1 media subsystem framework driver (V4L2, DRM-KMS, ALSA) Requirements understanding, design, development, unit-testing & debugging of Multimedia subsystem linux kernel drivers or surrounding areas.

- Work as independent developer & own the module completely.

- Feature enhancements, Integration & Bug fixing.

- Debugging various technical issues and providing the solutions.

- Timely & Quality deliverables of module.

- Documentation and process adherence.

- Mentor 1-2 Junior engineers.

Required Skills:

- 3 - 5 years of experience in Embedded Software with strong command over C/CPP

- Hands on experience on any one of the Linux kernel media frameworks (e.g. V4L2, DRM-KMS, ALSA-ASoC etc)

- Experienced with implementing audio-video capture/display drivers for interfaces like HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI, MIPI CSI/DSI, DVI, VGA, PCIe, I2S, SPDIF... or Audio-Video processing kernel drivers like, Video/Audio TPG (Test Pattern Generator), Video Scaler, Color Conversion, Interlacer/Deinterlacer, Gamma correction, Demosaic, chroma resampler, Scene change detection, ALSA ASoC drivers (Machine driver, CPU DAI driver, Codec DAI driver, PCM/DMA Driver)

- Skilled at System level debugging, Reverse engineering, Linux Internals and Protocol level knowledge of interfaces

- Basic knowledge of audio and video terminologies

- Must have hands on experience working in embedded Linux building, U Boot configuration, kernel compilation, Linux start-up sequencing, debugging kernel messages etc

- Hands on experience on any one of the debugging tools like GDB, KGDB, JTAG, ADB

- Familiarity with tools like Logic Analyzer, Phabrix Analyzer, BlackMagic or AJA SDI/HDMI Converters, DSO/CRO, Spectrum Analyzer would be added advantage

- Familiarity with development using Host - Target tool chains for embedded platforms

- Sound knowledge of SW development tools such as Git, CVS, Confluence, JIRA, bit-bucket, SourceTree etc. is must

- Good in documentation & shall be able to prepare the specification, design documents from requirements

- Reading schematics, datasheets, technical reference manual and Silicon revision sheet

- Passionate about learning new technologies, methodologies, strategies and processes

- Good sense of responsibility, teamwork and timeline

- Excellent written and verbal communication


- Self-starter, problem-solving mentality, and creative thinker

Desirable Skills:

- Good to have strong Communication Skill.

- Eagerness to learn new things & passion to solve technical problems

- Flexible in switching to new domains/technologies based on customer requirements.

- Contribution to the open-source Linux kernel codebase is an added advantage.
