Job Purpose :


  • To ensure that all plants follow the site Fire Safety procedures released from time to time by HSE dept.
  • To guide and facilitate the plant personnel in implementing Fire Prevention Plan / Safety in their respective plants, so that the process related risks are brought down and maintained within acceptable limits.


Principal Accountabilities :


  1. Assess and evaluate the requirement of firefighting facility by conducting the fire risk assessment.
  2. Organize to establish the requirements in coordination with the contracting agency
  3. Develop the team of employees by formation of the Emergency Response Team
  4. Auditing the plants for compliance of maintaining the Firefighting facility for the site.
  5. Coordinate for the implementation of the recommendation to keep the system in good operating condition
  6. Ensuring all environmental programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls are effectively implemented.
  7. Ensure the plant equipment/process is ISO certified and follows defined environmental safety norms.
  8. Coordination and engagement of environmental personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and add value to the organization.
  9. Managing environmental processes to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  10. In consultation with Head – HSE, prepare or modify the Fire & Safety procedures as per site.
  11. Implementing the guidelines/points of the external agencies and individual auditors, etc., engaged by the site for Fire Risk Improvement.
  12. Coordinate with all the department for the fire prevention activities by imparting regular training and drills.


Educational Qualifications :


  • B.E(Chemical) / M.SC (Fire) / MIHS from the premier institute.


Functional/Behavioral/Leadership Skills :


  1. Good knowledge of working of Chemical plants.
  2. Expert in the latest trends in the FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
  3. Good implementation skills.
  4. Ability to foster good relations with people.
