Job Title: CAE Simulation Engineer

Summary

The Simulation Engineer will independently handle and execute CAE activities, with a focus on component-level safety systems (primarily steering wheels). Proficiency in tools such as Hypermesh, Abaqus, and LS-Dyna (optional) is expected.

Strategic Context & Challenges

  • Execute meshing and simulation projects with minimal guidance and full ownership.
  • Deliver quality results on time.
  • Learn and adopt new tools, processes, and methods to execute diverse tasks.
  • Support simulation activities across multiple TC’s for steering wheel projects.
  • Take responsibility and ownership of personal deliverables and support team activities.
  • Perform conclusive analysis of test and simulation results to drive improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Be flexible to work in different shifts to support multiple ALV sites.

Key Deliverables

  • Handle and execute CAE activities from different ALV TC’s.
  • Provide design improvement solutions through CAE approaches.
  • Support and maintain robust processes/methods to achieve First-Time Quality and On-Time Deliverables.

Core Responsibilities & Activities

  • Experience Required: 1–3 years.
  • Strong fundamentals, analytical ability, and engineering basics.
  • Proficiency in pre-processors like Hyperworks, LS-Pre-Post, ESI tools, and Primer.
  • Hands-on experience in Abaqus/LS-Dyna (Basic) – Implicit and Explicit Analysis.
  • Ownership of deliverables and support for team activities.
  • Conclusive analysis of test/simulation results and recommendation of improvements.
  • Quality and timely delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Ability to learn and create new methods to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills; strong team player.
  • Quick learner with a passion to explore new methods/processes.
  • Adaptability to changing business scenarios and working in shifts.
  • Knowledge of Ansa, Abaqus, Visual Crash, steering wheel simulation activities/products – added advantage.
  • Additional relevant qualifications/certifications – added advantage.
  • Programming skills for pre/post-processing – added advantage.

  • Pre-Processor → Hypermesh and Abaqus CAE.
  • Solver → Abaqus, OptiStruct, LS-Dyna (optional).
  • Ownership: Support all CAE activities.
  • Customer Focus: Drive customer satisfaction.
  • Execution Management: Manage and execute projects.
  • Accountability: Adhere to set processes and implement improvements.


Qualifications

  • Education: B.E. in Mechanical / Automotive / Industrial Engineering.
  • Certifications/Accreditations: Trainings and certifications related to CAE software preferred.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant CAE experience. Automotive domain experience is an added advantage.
  • Languages: English, Kannada, Hindi.
  • Other: Adaptability to changing business scenarios and flexibility to work in shifts.
