Lead Avionics Simulation Engineer

In collaboration with the USA based Aircraft OEM, We are developing an integrated avionics platform for civil aircrafts with vertically integrated systems, software and hardware that achieves streamlined cockpit experience for pilots, as well as smooth maintenance and ownership experiences for crew and aircraft owners.
About This Job Posting
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Avionics Simulation Engineer to lead our simulation and modeling efforts for aircraft controls and physics. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of aircraft dynamics, control systems, and simulation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
● Technical Leadership:
o Lead a team of simulation engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
o Define and implement simulation strategies and best practices for aircraft simulation.
o Oversee the entire simulation and modelling lifecycle, from requirements analysis to model validation.
● Aircraft Modelling:o Develop accurate and efficient models of aircraft dynamics, including aerodynamics, propulsion, and structural dynamics.
o Utilize industry-standard modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Simulink Real-Time) to create realistic simulations.
● Controls Simulation:o Develop and validate models of flight control systems, including autopilot, autothrottle, and flight management systems.
o Conduct simulations to analyze system performance, stability, and robustness.
● Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) Testing:o Design and implement HIL and SIL test setups to validate control algorithms and system interactions.
o Develop test scripts and automation tools to streamline the testing process.
o Analyze test results to identify and address design issues.
● Data Analysis and Validation:o Analyze flight test data to validate simulation models and identify areas for improvement.
o Collaborate with flight test engineers to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
● Collaboration:o Collaborate closely with flight controls engineers, hardware engineers, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of simulation models into the overall development process.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
● 8-10 years of experience in aircraft simulation and modelling.
● Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and other simulation tools.
● In-depth understanding of aircraft dynamics, control systems, and flight mechanics.
● Experience with HIL and SIL testing techniques.
● Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A.
● Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
● Strong leadership and communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
