Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychologist to join Moodahead's team of mental health professionals and provide virtual therapy services to our diverse user base. The ideal candidate is a licensed psychologist with a deep understanding of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, a commitment to ethical practice, and a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges. In addition to conducting therapy sessions, the Psychologist will play a key role in shaping Moodahead's therapeutic approach, contributing to clinical programs and initiatives, and promoting mental health awareness and education.


Responsibilities:

Therapy Sessions:

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients using virtual communication platforms, such as video calls or chat, to provide evidence-based counselling and support.
  • Assess clients' mental health concerns, develop personalised treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to address their needs and goals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments, in compliance with professional and legal standards.


Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate clients' mental health symptoms, strengths, and challenges, using standardised assessment tools and diagnostic criteria.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses based on clinical assessment findings and collaborate with clients to develop a shared understanding of their mental health concerns.


Treatment Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualised treatment plans that incorporate their goals, preferences, and strengths, as well as evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and techniques tailored to clients' unique needs and circumstances, with a focus on promoting insight, coping skills, and resilience.


Therapeutic Relationship and Rapport:

  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic alliance with clients built on trust, empathy, and mutual respect, creating a safe and supportive space for exploration, reflection, and growth.
  • Foster a nonjudgmental and validating environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.


Professional Development and Collaboration:

  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and ethical guidelines in the field of psychology, engaging in ongoing professional development and training activities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including other mental health professionals, physicians, and support staff, to provide comprehensive and integrated care to clients.


Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the relevant jurisdiction, with a clear understanding of professional and ethical standards for mental health practice.
  • Demonstrated experience of 3 plus years providing individual therapy/counselling to clients with diverse backgrounds, presenting concerns, and treatment needs.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathetic listening skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Proficiency in virtual therapy modalities and technology platforms, with experience conducting therapy sessions remotely preferred.
