Role Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inspection of Material and Testing & Commissioning Engineer specialized in Substation (SS) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) systems. The role involves managing material inspection, tracking procurement documentation such as Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and invoices, and overseeing the testing and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with quality and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify incoming SS and EHV materials as per technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and track material procurement including Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and invoice processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of material status, inspection reports, and documentation for audit and compliance.
  • Facilitate testing and commissioning of SS & EHV equipment in coordination with internal teams and vendors.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to project timelines for testing and commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to resolve material-related issues.
  • Support material reconciliation, inventory control, and stock verification processes.
  • Prepare detailed inspection and commissioning reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and regulatory standards during inspection and commissioning.
  • Assist in optimizing procurement and commissioning workflows related to SS & EHV materials.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-6 years' experience in material inspection, testing & commissioning in Substation (SS) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects.
  • Strong understanding of material tracking processes, procurement documentation (PR, PO), and invoice management.
  • Experience with electrical equipment inspection standards and commissioning protocols.
  • Good knowledge of electrical power systems, EHV switchgear, transformers, and related equipment.
  • Proficient in documentation, report preparation, and data management.
  • Familiarity with project management and procurement software/tools is preferred.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in large-scale power projects with focus on SS and EHV systems.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and project management tools.
  • Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance in electrical commissioning.
