The Brand & Creative team in India is part of the Marketing Center of Excellence, serving as both a strategic partner and a creative hub for the entire enterprise. The team works with internal partners to customize, execute, and deliver creative solutions aligned with business requirements, and they engage with external vendors when needed. The team is responsible for creating collateral for both existing and new brand partners to support ongoing marketing communications and engagement efforts.
The Brand & Creative Copywriter Manager plays a pivotal role in nurturing an environment conducive to top-tier creative output, primarily focusing on copy across various mediums such as print, email, packaging, digital, video/motion, and brand. This role oversees and contributes to conceptual development, content development, project execution, and fosters team growth while leading a team of copywriters and proofreaders. This role is a detail-oriented individual with command of the English language including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Additionally, this Manager collaborates closely with the internal communications lead to support key site-level initiatives, events, and internal communication needs.
The Manager is a dynamic collaborator, innovator, and a promoter of creativity. This role demonstrates original content creation, content management, excellent editing skills and a keen eye for details. The role involves envisioning the bigger picture, eliminating obstacles, and inspiring the team from initial concepts to fruition. Additionally, this Manager actively shares project responsibilities with their team, often taking on the lead writer role to help manage the heavy day-to-day workload. This role is an active copywriter as well as a leader and is expected to help set the conceptual direction for all content development.
The Brand & Creative Copywriter Manager is a representative of the copy team across the organization, engaging with account partners to senior leadership. This role requires a good understanding of the business and the agility to identify and course-correct when best practices are not being followed. The Manager supports the Senior Manager and the overall Agency to meet set goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

Marketing Focus - Transform marketing strategies into compelling communications (through creative and innovative content, powerful conceptual ideas, digital, video, and interactive solutions). Craft and deliver creative solutions that cater to the requirements of both internal and external partners, thereby elevating the Brand & Creative group as a valuable strategic partner.

Branding - Uphold and enhance creative excellence by generating innovative ideas, aligning with creative briefs, and ensuring consistency of strategic branding. Collaborate with design team to ensure the consistent representation of brand identity, both visually and through voice. Support the ongoing development and evolution of the Bread Financial brand identity in partnership with other Brand & Creative leaders.

Lead - Cultivate a culture of creative excellence and accountability, ensuring that Bread Financials’ creative deliverables meet the expectations of our partners and uphold our own standards of excellence. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support for the growth of your creative team in both the context of project work and in their individual professional development (such as bi-annual reviews, regular touch bases, training sessions, etc.). Demonstrate sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making processes. Provide continuous feedback and complete formal performance evaluations as per organizational guidelines. Emphasize the value of recognizing associates and celebrating the achievements of individual team members as well as the collective success of the team. Lead direct reports and influence other associates to accomplish company initiatives.

Creative Strategy - Responsible for partnering with internal clients, understanding business requirements, and ensuring that creative solutions are rooted in effective creative strategies. Operate as a strategic and innovative creative thinker, offering both strategic guidance and strong creative recommendations. Oversee the creation of content/copy for marketing materials in support of the Brand & Creative team, handling both individual requests and larger group initiatives.

Reports To: Senior Manager or above

Direct Reports: 3-5

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Normal Office Environment. Hybrid role, work in corporate office as required.

Some travelling may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field of study.

10+ years of copywriting experience in an advertising agency or on the client side.

3+ years of experience leading teams of people in a professional setting with experience leading a copy team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a specialization in Copywriting.

12+ years’ experience with copy work on either client or agency side and across channels.

4+ years of experience leading a team of copywriters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to adapt writing style and voice in support of a wide variety of companies and their content strategies.

Command of the English language including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
