Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Placement Officer to join our university team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all student placement activities, fostering industry partnerships, and enhancing the employability of our graduates.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within educational institutions.
A Master's degree is mandatory, preferably an MBA.
Strong network with industry professionals and organizations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all activities related to student placements.
Collaborate with industries to offer vocational training courses to students.
Organize guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits, and educational tours.
Coordinate on-campus and off-campus interviews, ensuring top students secure suitable positions.
Arrange and coordinate placement training for students in consultation with faculty coordinators.
Placements & Internships
To secure job placements and internships for university students.
To enhance the quality of placements by increasing job opportunities, attracting reputable companies to visit the campus, and raising the average salaries year after year.
To organize summer and winter internships with companies that have a high likelihood of converting internships into final placements.
To collect job announcements, descriptions, requirements, and specifications from representatives of interested organizations and share this information with students in a timely manner.
Corporate relationship & coordination
Correspond with prospective companies and invite them for campus or online interviews.
Track all placements using software or systemized methods.
Share the database of eligible candidates with prospective companies based on criteria.
Arrange interview facilities on campus.
Share industry feedback, trends, and expectations with students and leadership.
Career Guidance
Counsel students to increase job acceptance rates, guide them through the interview process, and provide support from interview to onboarding.
Evaluate students for potential placements and provide information, advice, and guidance through various media.
Collaborate with the Student Placement Committee and department heads.
Training & Skill Development
Organize seminars and expert talks by industry veterans, plan and execute skill training, and arrange industry visits, guest lectures, and on-the-job training.
Provide skill development training in soft skills, communication, interview techniques, and interpersonal skills.
Design and deliver training programs in consultation with leadership.
General Management
Achieve targets for recruitment, internships, and live projects while supporting team members.
Engage with corporates for strategic activities like guest lectures, panel discussions, and workshops.
Other attributes
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
24/7 availability for important projects
Knowledge of Industry demographics will be an added advantage
Ability to handle requirements of Engineering, Commerce, Management, Sciences, Humanities and arts.
Willingness to travel as per professional requirements.
