THE ROLE
Legal Consultant
Location : Mumbai
Experience : 3-5 yrs

Role Description
About Us: Seclore Technology Private Limited is a global data security software company. Seclore focuses on Information Rights Management that enable organizations to leverage best-in-class data protection technologies to control and monitor their sensitive information. We have operations in North America, Middle East, India and Europe.
Job Description:
In order to support the legal team of a quickly growing Tech company, we are looking for individuals who are ready to take on the following responsibilities:
• Independently advising and supporting various business teams (for e.g., Sales, Marketing, Engineering, IT procurement and HR) in the review, negotiation and closure of a variety of contracts.
• Participating in negotiations with customers and vendors and ensuring conformance with internal contracting requirements and risk identification & mitigation.
• Provide general legal advice and support to the various departments, such as marketing, product development, human resources, IT etc.
• Work with external Legal Counsels from time to time regarding specific matters.
• Proactively identifying key issues and risks during negotiations and raising them to the attention of the supervising attorney.
• Developing relationships with various business units and functional departments and develop understanding of their strategies and objections to better serve the company's need.
• Creating and maintaining template agreements and refining contract processes and forms
• Supporting the Legal team in drafting, implementing, and enforcing legal and compliance policies
• Assisting in other matters as may be requested.
• Advising teams on intellectual property and technology related legal issues including compliance with data protection and privacy laws, online and email marketing rules.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in law.
• 3 – 5 years of professional experience as an in-house counsel within the IT/ Software Product industry.
• Proficiency in independently drafting and finalizing various technology-related and commercial agreements, including NDAs, SaaS and On-Premises technology agreements, software licenses, and service agreements.
• Proficiency in Intellectual Property and Technology Laws in India and the United States.
• Experience in dealing with various data protection laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA etc.), including reviewing and redlining Data Protection Addendums will be considered advantageous.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including effective collaboration with business teams.
• Proactive approach, demonstrating excellent research and analytical abilities, and the capacity to provide well-founded legal opinions.
• Understanding of and prior experience in managing legal affairs in the United States is preferred.
• Ability to comprehend and discuss technology-related matters.
• Self-driven individual comfortable with autonomously handling day-to-day tasks and administrative responsibilities within a streamlined legal department.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to take initiative, adapt swiftly to shifting priorities, and operate with a sense of urgency across variety of legal matters.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills combined with sound business judgment.
