Network Operations Engineer (24/7 Operations Role) Bangalore, India (Hybrid - at least 3 days in office for now) 24/7 Environment (Need to be active at least by 2 AM IST to coordinate with stakeholders in PST) About the role: You’ll operate enterprise networking in a manufacturing environment (shop floor + offices + DC/Cloud edge) supporting OT devices (PLCs/SCADA/robots), rugged Wi-Fi, barcode/RFID, cameras, MES/ERP, and multi-site connectivity. You will build, change, and run secure, segmented, and highly available networks across Cisco Catalyst/Nexus , BGP WAN , Palo Alto firewalls , Cisco WLC 9800 , and Azure VNets/NSGs . Core responsibilities: “Build–Change–Run” fit: Build: Deploy/upgrade Catalyst 9K/Nexus 9K, new VLANs, WAN/BGP, WLC 9800, Palo Alto policies, Azure VNets/NSGs, load balancers. Change: RFCs, impact analysis, method of procedure (MOP), peer review, backout plan, change windows. Run: 24×7 monitoring (SolarWinds), ticket SLAs, incident response, config backups, capacity & patch management. Day-to-Day looks like: Operate and improve LAN/WAN/WLAN, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking; keep production online. Troubleshoot L1–L7 issues (access, routing, NAT, wireless, policy, DNS), perform BGP changes, and maintain HA/failover. Implement segmentation (VLANs/ACLs/NSGs), VPN/IPsec, and QoS for voice/OT traffic. Use SolarWinds (or similar) for alerting, NetFlow, syslog, and NCM backups; create dashboards & runbooks. Required Technical Skills at L3/SME Level on the below: Cisco LAN Switching (Catalyst 9000) — VLAN/L3 WAN Routing with BGP (SME Level) Palo Alto Firewalls (Policies/NAT/IPsec) Cisco Wireless + WLC 9800 Azure Networking (or any Cloud) — VNets/NSGs Preferred Technical Skills: Nexus 9300 (DC, VXLAN/EVPN basics), SolarWinds (SNMP/NetFlow/NCM), Load Balancer (F5/Citrix/NGINX) for L4/L7 traffic steering. Education & Certifications (required/preferred) Bachelor’s in CS/IT/ECE or equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise networking. Cisco CCNP Enterprise /CCIE EI (expert) / CompTIA Network+ (entry). Palo Alto PCNSE Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate Do NOT apply if you: If you're not available immediate to start within 2 weeks of official notice from the date of offer Cannot commit to the 2:00 AM IST availability requirement Are not comfortable with a hybrid work model (3+ days in-office) You have less than 3 years operating BGP in production (multi-site or dual-ISP), including policy/attributes and failover. You have less than 2 years administering Palo Alto firewalls in production (policies, NAT , IPsec , HA ). You have not built site-to-site IPsec tunnels and NAT rules on Palo Alto in a live environment.
