Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Expert to manage and oversee the preparation and filing of various tax returns and year-end accounts in compliance with UK tax regulations. This role will require proficiency in working with multiple accounting and tax software, with a strong focus on UK tax and accounting standards.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Review of Year-End Accounts: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of year-end financial statements in compliance with relevant UK accounting standards, including FRS105, FRS102, and FRS102A.
  • Filing of Financial Accounts: Manage the preparation and submission of financial accounts under FRS105, FRS102, and FRS102A, ensuring they are filed correctly and within deadlines.
  • CT600 Review: Review and prepare Corporation Tax returns (CT600), ensuring all relevant tax provisions are accounted for and compliant with HMRC guidelines.
  • Self-Assessment Tax Returns: Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of self-assessment tax returns, ensuring all information is accurate and submitted on time to HMRC.
  • LLP Returns: Prepare and submit Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) tax returns, ensuring all necessary documentation is included and filed in compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize various accounting and tax software packages such as CCH, IRIS, Tax Calc, SAPA, VT, Tax Filer, Xero, and QuickBooks to complete tax filings and year-end accounts with precision and efficiency.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure full tax compliance with HMRC requirements for both individuals and companies. Provide accurate tax reporting and assist in responding to any inquiries or audits from HMRC.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing advice and guidance on tax matters and ensuring their needs are met in accordance with UK tax law.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep up to date with changes in UK tax laws and accounting standards. Implement best practices and continuously improve processes for increased efficiency and accuracy.


Key Skills and Qualifications:


Qualifications:

ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong background in UK tax law and accounting.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in UK tax preparation and compliance, particularly with year-end accounts, CT600, Self-Assessment returns, and LLP returns.

Technical Skills:

Strong working knowledge of UK tax software (CCH, IRIS, Tax Calc, SAPA, VT, Tax Filer, Xero, and QuickBooks).

Attention to Detail:

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns and financial accounts.

Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve tax-related issues.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

Knowledge of Tax Compliance:

In-depth knowledge of UK tax compliance and the regulatory framework governing corporate and individual taxation.
