Reinsurance Solutions Analytics offers clients industry-leading Catastrophe Management, Impact Forecasting, Rating Agency Practice, Product Development and Research, Actuarial & ReMetrica support.GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:The vulnerability modeler will be part of Impact Forecasting vulnerability team focused on the development of vulnerability solutions for atmospheric perils. The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to development, calibration and validation of wind vulnerability functions, detailed claims analysis etc.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

:Develop vulnerability functions for different regions based on building inventory data.Development and calibration of bespoke vulnerability functions.Develop component-based vulnerability for inland flooding and storm surge (using computer simulation and/or claims).Use IF proprietary loss modeling platform ELEMENTS in estimating loss.The individual will actively collaborate with R&D team and software development teams in all aspects of the model development and implementing the methodologies developed by the R&D group at IF.Provide critical analysis of modeling results for internal validation of models and explaining results to clients when needed.This position requires a master’s degree and preferably a PhD in Structural/Civil Engineering.Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Solid knowledge of probability concepts and statisticsExcellent understanding and at least 2 years’ direct experience in vulnerability related to any peril.Some knowledge of insurance/reinsurance concepts is a plusExcellent skills in oral and written communicationCapability to work in a team effectively and respect teamwork environmentSKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
