Staff Software Engineer

to join Procore’s journey to revolutionize a historically underserved industry.As a

Staff Software Engineer

in the Financials division, you will help lead a team of engineers and partner with other teams to develop and deliver a customized workflow platform solution for our customers. This platform will be leveraged by teams across Procore to allow our customers to run highly customizable business processes inside the Procore application. If you have a curious mind and proven experience developing complex solutions to difficult problems—we have a spot for you on our team.This position will report to our Manager, Software Engineering, Workflows. We’re looking for candidates to join our team immediatelyWhat you’ll do:Focus on the development of our Workflows platform service for Procore.Help establish standards for development teams and collaborate on initiatives with infrastructure, platform, and other software engineering teamsParticipate in designing and building a system that is aligned with Procore’s technical vision of a service-oriented architectureWork up and down the stack to ship code for our microservices, React front ends, and Rails app, and dive into the database and eventing layer.Drive innovation and change to accommodate enterprise and international customers for Procore across the organizationCollaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX to design and build solutions that delight users and solve critical business problemsMentor fellow engineers in best practices, reviewing their designs and code and helping them deliver high quality software

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience8+ years experience in Programming fundamentals, Test Driven Development and Design principles (Java, Ruby on Rails, Python, Typescript)Experience designing and building software in a Service-Oriented ArchitectureUnderstanding the tradeoffs between short-term and long-term goals and balancing immediate needs with strategic initiativesExperience in working with software, platforms, and infrastructure at scale (we run thousands of hosts and have millions of users)Track record of anticipating technical problems that will fall out of major projects and designing solutions to overcome those problemsExperience in building modern Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems at scaleExperience working with a team on large initiatives with the ability to course-correct as neededExperience working with modern web development, including testing, staging, deploying, and monitoringStrong experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions
