Role

The Software Engineer is responsible for applying engineering principles to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software and systems or anything containing software work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions based on system design specifications.
  • Adapt existing software to meet user and business needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and standards are followed.
  • Perform thorough testing to identify and fix bugs.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures for software systems.
  • Manage and resolve IT-related queries and tickets.
  • Work closely with other software engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on software development strategies.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in software engineering.
  • Actively seek ways to improve processes and implement best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions, including refreshers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed software, and system architecture and assets.

Competencies/Skill set:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc.
  • Knowledge of Selenium, Django, PostgreSQL, web scraping, etc. is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with databases, web servers (AWS), and UI/UX designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Professional experience ranging from 1 to 5 years.
