  • Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain database servers (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB) and database instances (on-premises, cloud-based such as Azure SQL, or hybrid environments).
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, query execution, and indexing strategies, using tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Database Engine Tuning Advisor for SQL Server, as well as MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, or MMS for MongoDB.
  • Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions using tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Maintenance Plans, and Always On Availability Groups for SQL Server, as well as mongodump / mongorestore, MongoDB Cloud Backup, or Ops Manager backups for MongoDB.
  • Security: Ensure database security by managing access controls, encryption, auditing and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Upgrades & Patching: Apply updates, patches, and upgrades to database systems while minimizing downtime.
  • Data Integrity: Monitor and maintain data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
  • Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues, including SQL Server Agent Jobs, Performance Monitor, and third-party solutions such as Redgate SQL Monitor and SolarWinds DPA.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to support application and reporting needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for database architectures, processes, and procedures.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
  • 3 Years of working experience as a DBA.
  • Proven experience as a DBA in one or more database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and normalization.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation is a plus.
  • Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

MUST HAVE WORKED IN MULTILPLE PROJECTS END_TO_END DATABASE ARCHITECTURE, IMPLEMENTATION, AND OPTIMIZATION.
