Job Description

DEPARTMENT AND SECTION: QUALITY ASSURANCE (Pipes Division)

POSITION TITLE: SECTION HEAD

REPORTING TO POSITION: HEAD - QUALITY ASSURANCE

REPORTEES TO THIS POSITION: QUALITY ENGINEER

Educational Qualification:

Required B.Sc./ M.Sc.- Polymer Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Diploma CIPET

Preferred MSc- Polymer /Analytical Chemistry

KEY RESULT AREAS:

1. Ensure proper functionality of quality ASSURANCE of compounding & pipes manufacturing.

2. Develop and implement quality systems for raw material, in process materials and finished goods.

3. Execute Quality Plans & ensure desired product quality as per prescribed specifications.

4. Monitor equipment efficiencies and implement corrective & preventive actions to ensure availability of Lab inspection equipment's as well as lab chemicals.

5. Upgrade analytical procedures and systems.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

1. To design quality plans and implement methods & procedures for inspection, and testing.

2. Provide analytical guidance to Operations whenever required.

3. Ensure proper maintenance & upkeep of analytical instruments with proper Data sheet.

4. Monitor and control inventory of laboratory chemicals ,consumable s & other required materials

5. Take a appropriate & timely decision in case of deviations in product quality to avoid off-spec generation.

6. Prepare the Internal audit schedule for ISO 9001 & ensure the compliance. Arrange for 3rd party inspections wherever necessary under ISO 9001. Ensure proper documentation.

7. Co-ordination with dealers to know their requirements, quality standards etc. and appraise Manufacturing & Marketing sections.

8. Note quality deviations in RM, In Process goods and FGs and suggest corrective actions.

9. To establish SQC methods with Cpk levels for critical parameters and ensure that the target Cpk levels are met

10. Undertake a comparative and bench mark studies with competitor products, suggest improvements

11. Address customer complaints

12. Implement and maintain QMS/EMS in department to meet departmental objective and targets

13. Communicate the objective and targets to persons initiating actions.

14. To establish operational control and maintain them in conformance with and relevant to Environmental policy, legal requirement, significant aspects &hazards ,objective and targets

15. Identifying training needs of personnel ,ensure that training is imparted to meet the competency level

16. Approve documents and changes thereof to ensure strict document control

Experience:

10-12 yrs. in Compounding, Pipes & Resin testing process.

Skills:

Functional

1. Wide knowledge of extrusion system.

2. Expertise in QC techniques

3. Knowledge of international and national standards and methods of analysis

4. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 1400I
