Role Description We’re hiring a Senior Python Developer (Data Engineering / Backend) for a full-time, on-site role in Bangalore/Chennai. You will build and own data pipelines and backend services across AWS and GCP, with strong emphasis on BigQuery-based analytics. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable ingestion, transformation, and reporting systems, improve code quality and standards, and ensure performance, reliability, and observability in production. Key responsibilities include: • Build and maintain cloud data pipelines (batch/streaming) on AWS/GCP • Develop backend services and automation using Python (clean, modular, OOP) • Design and optimize data models and BigQuery performance (partitioning, clustering, cost control) • Integrate external APIs and manage data reliability (retries, idempotency, monitoring) • Debug production issues, improve performance, and harden systems for scale • Collaborate with product/engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Qualifications • Strong proficiency in Python and backend development fundamentals • Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean coding practices • Solid experience with databases and data modeling, including optimization • Experience building data pipelines using AWS and/or GCP, especially BigQuery • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Comfortable working in an on-site, team-oriented environment in Chennai • Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience) • Experience in AI/ML/Data Analytics is a plus
