Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Jewelry Merchandiser with Design Experience. As a Jewelry Merchandiser, you will be responsible for designing and curating jewelry collections, implementing visual merchandising strategies, managing inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is an on-site role located in Mumbai.
Job Responsibilities
1.  Concept & Ideation Translation :
- Understand and interpret management’s ideas into actionable plans.
2.  Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct international market research, trend and competitor analysis.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on research findings.
3.  Product Design & Development
- Suggest and present new styles, designs, and collections in line with management's quality, price, and quantity standards.
- Participate in design finalization discussions with management.
4.  Project Participation & Team Collaboration:
- Attend new project meetings and disseminate relevant information to team members.
- Guide the preparation of error-free brief sheets for upcoming collections, ensuring clear communication of product USPs.
5.  Product Development Supervision:
- Oversee the entire product development process from conceptualization to market launch.
- Act as a quality checkpoint for CAD, 3D, and Photoshop teams to ensure optimal product output.
6.  Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with CAD, 3D, Photoshop, production, and live teams on design discussions.
- Coordinate with the product development team to monitor and adhere to new product launch timelines.
7.  Website Categorization & Optimization:
- Work with the reporting officer to manage and optimize product categories on the website using data analysis.
8.  Trend Monitoring & Strategy Development:
- Stay updated on international jewelry market trends and competitor actions.
- Develop counter strategies to maintain competitive edge.
9.  Product Assortment Planning:
- Collaborate with the design team to curate jewelry collections based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales data.
10.  Pricing & Profitability Management :
- Develop pricing strategies considering production costs, market positioning, and competitor landscape to maximize profitability.
11.  Merchandising Displays:
- Collaborate with visual merchandising team to create attractive displays that enhance jewelry marketability.
12.  Vendor & Supplier Management:
- Work with external vendors and suppliers to source new jewelry pieces, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships.
13.  Communication & Collaboration:
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, production, sales, marketing) to align on product strategies and timelines.
14.  Quality Control :
- Partner with the quality control team to ensure all jewelry pieces meet company standards and customer expectations.
Qualifications
Excellent communication, customer service, and sales skills
Experience in the retail industry, specifically in jewelry merchandising
Strong business acumen
Ability to create visually appealing displays and effectively merchandise jewelry
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience working with different types of jewelry materials and designs
Proficiency in jewelry design software and tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects independently and in a timely manner
Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Must have strong technical skills; specifically, with Microsoft Excel (macros, v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.) and in dealing with large data sets
