Lead Network Security Engineer

About the roleIn this role,you will be providing technical expertise needed to support day-to-day network operations. You will lead efforts to maintain and support a complex and growing networktopology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations and business requirements.
What You will doDesign and implement scalable,resilient, and securenetwork solutions basedon business requirements.Configure and deploy networkhardware and softwarecomponents, including routers,switches, firewalls, and load balancers.Collaborate with other teams to integratenetwork solutions with existing systemsand applications.Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patch management, and hardware replacements.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.Implement proactivemeasures to preventnetwork outages and security breaches.Implement and enforce networksecurity policies, includingaccess control, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ISMS, SOC2, PCI DSS).Stay updated on emergingsecurity threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures.Analyse network traffic patterns and optimize network configurationsto improve performance and efficiency.Implement Qualityof Service (QoS)mechanisms to prioritize critical traffic and ensure optimal bandwidth utilization.Collaborate with system administrators and application developers to optimize networkperformance for specific applications.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of networkconfigurations, topology diagrams, and operational procedures.Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planningto stakeholders and senior management.Collaborate with project managers to plan and coordinate network infrastructure projects,ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
What you will need8+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale networks.In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and MPLS.Hands-on experience with networkhardware and softwarefrom vendors such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper etc.,Strong understanding of networksecurity principles and best practices, including firewall configuration, SDWan, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure authentication mechanisms.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,with the abilityto troubleshoot complexnetwork issues in a timely manner.Effective communication and interpersonal skills,with the abilityto collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or equivalent are a plus.
