Role DescriptionWe are actively seeking a skilled and passionate Forestry Specialist (Carbon Registry) to join our team. As a specialist in the environmental and climate science field, you will play a vital role in our carbon registry company, focusing on forestry projects. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accurate assessment, registration, and monitoring of carbon offset projects in the forestry sector.

Key Responsibilities

Project Evaluation:

Assess and evaluate forestry-based carbon offset projects, ensuring they adhere to regulatory standards and environmental best practices.

Compliance Management:

Stay updated on national and international environmental regulations related to forestry and carbon offset projects. Ensure all projects comply with these regulations.

Data Analysis:

Analyse and interpret data related to forest carbon sequestration, deforestation rates, and environmental impact assessments to assess project effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with forestry companies, conservation organizations, and local communities to facilitate the implementation of carbon offset projects and promote sustainable forestry practices.

Registry Management:

Oversee the accurate entry of project data into the carbon registry database, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the information.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for each registered carbon offset project, including monitoring and verification reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Market Analysis:

Monitor carbon market trends, assess market demands, and provide insights to optimize the value of carbon credits generated from forestry projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background:

A bachelor, master’s, or doctoral degree in, Forestry, Environmental Science, Climate Science, or a related field. A strong academic background in environmental and climate studies is essential.

Experience:

Fresher is fine, but we prefer 2 years of relevant work experience in forestry carbon offset projects, environmental consulting, or related fields. Experience in a carbon registry company is highly desirable.

Technical Knowledge:

Proficiency in forestry management, carbon sequestration mechanisms, carbon accounting protocols (such as VCS, CAR, or related standards), and environmental impact assessments.

Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyse complex environmental data sets and market trends.

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Regulatory Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of international and national regulations related to forestry, carbon offset projects, and environmental conservation.

Project Management:

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Passion and Commitment:

Passion for environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable forestry practices. A strong commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.

Budget:

The salary range for this position is 25-30K, depending on performance.Time and Commitment:

This is a full-time position, requiring 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, based at our office in Bangalore.
