Job Description:

The Data Modeler will play a key role in the design and development of Data Models/Data Products that align with the strategic goals of the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring that data structures are designed for flexibility, scalability, and the optimal performance of database systems.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Identify and collaborate with different stakeholders, including, source system teams, Data Product consumers, business analysts, data architects, IT teams, etc. to establish business requirements and translate them into data models.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models using best practices and industry standards.
  • Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
  • Maintain metadata in the data dictionary and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through normalization.
  • Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose solutions to enhance data-sharing and data consistency.
  • Assess Data Product implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Provide data modelling and design guidance including identification of data entities, data dependencies, and data relationships.
  • Work with the development team to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models.
  • Create and maintain data model documentation and metadata for all Data Product related projects.
  • Perform data analysis and profiling tasks to understand data structures, definitions, and anomalies.
  • Support the data governance initiative by adhering to the established policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with the data governance team to ensure quality and monitor data management practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.

Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 + years of experience in data modelling, Data Warehousing, Database designs
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, SQL, and data modelling tools
  • Experience with data management and data analysis in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and business intelligence tools is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
