Do you want to join a team that works on internet scale systems, uses cloud computing services, leverages State of The Art technologies and Gen AI tools?The Core Services team owns the charter of evaluating bad actor risk of all kinds (Buyer, Seller, Brand, Vendor) across entities such as Orders, Returns, Sign-ins, Listings and any event that will be useful to evaluate risky behavior. We build self-service capabilities to experiment and launch new use cases while making it easy to on-board and manage existing ones all over the world. We are the gate keepers of customer trust by preventing bad actors from doing damage to good customers or scamming Amazon. The problems we solve will challenge the best in terms of scale (100s of billion evaluations) and latency (think milliseconds) while operating at the lowest costAs the Software Development Manager, you will have technical ownership of mission critical systems that drive the program. You'll lead a talented and nimble team of engineers and will define the vision for the program. You will build the team to deliver the vision.Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities include direct management of a team of 8-10 engineers, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of engineering experience- 3+ years of engineering team management experience- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
