The Opportunity:

The Data Quality Manager primarily supports the Protect pillar of the strategy.

Key priorities include:

The role holder needs to demonstrate strong sense of ownership and accountability on projects through strong project management skills and regular communication with internal project managers and business stakeholders Working as an individual contributor, provide good recommendation / insights and enhance quality of output through tying the analysis back to Business trends, product knowledge and market dynamics Expertise in technical skills (,Python ,SAS ,SQL. Exposure / Experience to data visualization tools like QlikSense, Tableau and Data technologies) Exposure to AI/ML & automation is preferred. Exposure to document and content management utilities like Rational Team Concert, Confluence etc. Drives the optimization initiatives for existing processes. Understand personal training needs and take initiative to follow through personal development plan in conjunction with line manager

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (

Customer/Stakeholder

Manage the HSBC Data Utility’s(HDU) stakeholders and promote data quality services. Build strong working relationships with the data SMEs in GB/GFs . Build strong working relationships with Group Data Services Within the HDU closely work with Data Quality Issues Remediation, Data Governance, Data Architecture (Business) and the Policy & Compliance teams.

Service Delivery

Ability to convert business needs into technical/functional requirements and analysis/ MI Reports Provide flawless execution by the team through effective project management and incorporating necessary quality checks that has been signed off by senior /manager Demonstrate acceptable standards of productivity. Contribute towards the quantifiable process improvement goals of the team

Process Efficiency and Controls

Maintain a continued focus on continuous improvement across areas of responsibility Key responsibilities include some of but not limited to: Support ensuring data practices comply with regulations of all geographies under remit Understanding of accounting principles, data flows and regulatory landscape – BCBS239, B3R, CCAR, IFRS9 etc. Support the management and monitoring of operational risk in the field of data management Support the creation and governing of relationships between data elements across different systems Support helping to define HSBC data quality guidelines, procedures, standards, methods, tools and processes and ensure enforcement Perform Root cause analysis and fix DQ issues. Support the management and oversight of the whole data lifecycle, from record creation to disposal (Information Lifecycle Management) Support ensuring the data retention schedule is kept to across the organisation Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

6+ years plus of Data Quality, Data Mapping, Data Science and Data project management experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred. 4 year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed university in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline. Adaptive to multi data environment with quick learning ability to learn infrastructures. Understanding / Experience of ,Python ,SAS ,SQL. Exposure / Experience to data visualization tools like QlikSense, Tableau. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint. Visio,VBA. Exposure to document and content management utilities like Rational Team Concert, Confluence etc. Adaptive to change environment and capable of delivering in matrix organization. Ability for logical thinking, eye for details Desired banking knowledge / quick learning aptitude and ability of developing knowledge Effective written and verbal communication skills to work with multiple sites across geographies)

Take ownership and support the end-to-end implementation of strategic solutions
